In for one, prefer speakers over earbuds, and could kind of use a little mystery in my life (too much overtime at work lately). Rained all day yesterday, got soaked walking the dog in the morning, soaked walking from the parking lot into work. Got wet again after a 10 hour day, and the only good thing was that it was raining as hard when I got home to walk the dog, again in the rain. Only a 50% chance today. Least I know I have a better chance at something nice in the mystery box.

I wish they would have put the ipod right next to the speaker so it is more obvious how big this thing is. since it takes 3 AAA batteries, I'm guessing its not that small.
30+ flings thus far and still going strong!

I don't think it's their picture, I believe it's a stock picture. If you check out the same item on Amazon it's the same exact picture. So the manufacturer probably has released that photo for online sales kinda thing.

Mine shipped as well, arriving here on Wednesday. My shipment weight was only 3 pounds which is strange because when I looked up the speaker on walmart's website it showed the shipping weight as 5.9 pounds just for the speaker. Maybe my shipping weight strategy of guessing what's in the box isn't very accurate after all, guess I'll find out on Wednesday.

Mine is 3.0 lbs, and due Wednesday as well. I don't think the weight is always accurate these days, with flat rate shipping. The speaker goes for almost $20 at the retail stores, so it's a great deal by itself. Got mine on free shipping coupon, so nothing to complain about. Just hoping for a fun surprise.

I ordered two which would explain the difference in the two weights but like Harvey said the weight may be a general weight or guesstimate LOL

Wow! That's a lot of mystery items, and the speakers were about half price to begin with, who cares about the boxes anyway, they eventually get thrown away. Mine should be here today, 3.0 lbs. Hoping for a short day, or least only 8 hours, already 3 hours overtime for the past two days.

Wednesday:

Came late in the day... Here's what I got in my 3.0 lbs box:

1x Speaker, black
1x Camera Case
1x 6 outlet multiplier, always handy
1x 25ft phone cord, a got a big box to add this to, but nice length, compared to the 6 footers
1x Connectables photo frame, guess I can start on the file cabinet
1x box with drawers, nice place to store electronic parts
1x EX Pass suction cup mount, thinking a solar panel and battery, some sort of flashy light
1x DLO Iphone case, don't cellphone, maybe my Zen will fit though

Pretty useful stuff, quite pleased. Speaker is fairly loud for the size, using rechargeable batteries. Clear, really pretty good, compared to most of the little portable speakers.

These little speakers are great, I've been using mine all the time since I got mine a few weeks ago. Certainly one of my best impulse purchases online in quite some time.

I've used this speaker less than 10 times for short periods of time and it keeps cutting out. What is warranty since it is refurbished? Do I have to go through Philips to get any support?

I got one of these last time, and was quite impressed with the volume and sound for the size. Strapped it to my metal detector last week, and it worked out pretty good. Hate using headphones, and the wire getting in the way, have keep taking them off. The detectors built in speaker isn't all that loud, and drains the batteries. This speaker works fine off rechargeable batteries.

Don't remember where I put my instructions, but seem to remember something about the cutting out problem mentioned above. Might check to see if the batteries are actually good, all three. Got a dead one once, drove me crazy, thinking a new pack, they all must be good. Now one of the first things I check. Also might see if you've got the volume going in is too high, sometimes amps have protection. Might be a little late now, but if you get something here, and it's broken, ThingFling has replaced the items if they can before. You might get stuck for shipping it back though. I used a free shipping coupon, so $7, and not really worth the shipping. Probably about the same as buying another one, plus you get more mystery items to go with it... These are good little speakers.

Try buy a bluetooth headphone set with a dongle. You can velcro the dongle to the dector, it is about the size and weight of a box of matches, usually rechargable and last all day. Now you can hear the faintist targets and no wires. (also not bothering people or alerting them of your fines!)Shhh

I actually just order the adapter (Jabra) and a Samsung earpiece over the weekend, little over $70 (ouch). But I still prefer the speaker in most cases. Have only ventured out of my own yard twice, but starting to run out of stuff to dig at home. I know when I start to go to more public places, I'm not going to want to attract a lot of attention to myself. I've never been a big fan of earphones or headphones, like to be able to hear what's around me. The bluetooth will keep one ear open, but still going to take some getting use to.

Think I'm pretty much ready to go out on public land though. Recently learned about large objects (steel fence posts), and how to zero in one coins and other small objects. Got a pretty good digging tool at Walmart for around $7, so not doing too much damage any more with a shovel.

Got the Jabra A120s adapter and Samsung HM1000 Headset yesterday. Can't get them to pair. Also tried a Uniden BT108, and no luck there either. Will see if the A120s will pair with my computer, when I find that little dongle. Pretty sure, all the devices are functional, just not wanting to talk to each other. Lights flash, can move between modes, and can get beeps from the headsets when pushing some buttons. Haven't used Bluetooth much, only tried it briefly with a photo printer and my computer, which wasn't too reliable.

Most people carry, and use cellphones these days, aren't too concerned about bothering people. Pretty sure if I'm searching, people will be watching. Pretty much everyone has a little curiosity, and a sense of adventure. They think metal detecting is all about gold and treasure, and don't consider all the pull tabs and bottle caps that get dug up.

Got my second one today, some useful mystery items. Also got a Jabra Clipper, which hopefully will let me use any earbud/headphone with the Bluetooth adapter. Charging right now.

So here's what came in the box, this time:

1 Speaker
1 Blue case, not too sure what it was for though...
3 LED Flashlights, one each, red, amber, and white LED. Not so bright, with two rechargeable AA batteries.
2 Light up arm bands
2 MP3 screen cleaners
1 Halo Buckle, YEAH! Fourth one to melt down... Should be enough to pour something nice.
1 Connectables Photo Frame, of course...
2 Vivitar mini tripods, got 6 of them so far, but they are very good and sturdy. Been using them for taking closeup photos of the coins I've found. Use the 2 second self timer, after everything is set, and in focus. Get very clean images. Use a second to hold one of those cellphone camera lights ThingFling had a while back.
1 can, of 100 anti-static wipes... Really not sure what to do with these, CRT free these days. Only static problem is in the winter. Have try them in the dryer, get zapped pretty good taking out the laundry.

The speaker itself, is a good deal, couple of much appreciated mystery items. Thanks for the much hoped for Halo Buckle. Been holding off on trying the metal in a mold, wasn't sure if there was going to be enough metal to make a decent sized figurine. Should have a pretty good choice for something mid-sized.
