So I order this item, shipping $6. I then google it, find a link that points back to ThingFling, and click it. Now the shipping is $4. What's up with that?

You ordered it so your shipping was $6. The next purchase in the day would be $4 shipping, so if you order another one that one would be $4. And if you come back again.......$0!!!!

Read the shipping policy.
Also - If you ordered 3 at once the total would have been $6.

Now for the product. I use Macs - which apparently don't have antenna ports so this won't work for me.
However it would work to share internet with a neighbor (we can see each others' signals but they're not strong). Not a plan yet.
So pass for now but looks like a decent product and a great price.

Pure nonsense, 3.5 DBI means that gain over Isotropic, an imaginary antenna. A simple dipole has 2.7 Db gain over an Isotropic antenna.
The 35% speed increase is more bull. This is right up their with that piece of crap you stick on a cell phone battery that makes it work in an elevator.
gain of any antenna is achieved by changing the pattern, let us assume they measured the pattern from the side and it appeared stronger, what happened to the signal to your upstairs computer it is reduced. there ain't no free lunch when it comes to antenna.
I love ya thing fling but as far as the antenna specs... PT Barnum got it right.

OK, im confused! What exactly do you hook this thing up to, the wireless router downstairs or the PC upstairs? Does it replace the antenna already on the wireless nic card?

Agreed, this antenna isn't anything special. The biggest benefit is probably that it's on a 1m cable, so you can position the antenna away from the device, possibly allowing for better reception.

Yes, either device, as long as it has a reverse-SMA or TNC connector. Yes, this would most likely replace an existing antenna.

I just needed the adapter - the cable is a plus. Goofy little thing to try to find when you have a need for one. The real antenna I already have will appreciate it.

Because it is today's MAGIK NUMBR! Shock

Seriously, TF always places a limit on how many you can buy, so that you will have to pay another $4.00 in shipping, to place an order for more than 2, thereby charging you $10.00 in shipping total. Oh yeah, after you pay the $10.00 daily (24 hour) shipping, everything else ordered BEFORE midnight is free. Rolling Eyes

BTW, this site used to be known for it's FREE SHIPPING policy.
Those were the days. Days of wine and roses. Warm sunshine and cool breezes. White sandy beaches and swaying palms.........

Sorry, got a little sidetracked. I must have forgotten to take my meds this morning..Laughing

BTW, you can read the entire shipping policy by hovering your cursor over the "HOW DO I GET FREE SHIPPING text, next to the TF LOGO on the home page.
