I would caution against using these to switch a HDD, UNLESS you first go into Windows' Safely Remove Hardware and "remove" the drive that way before switching to the other machine.

This way, Windows completed whatever operations it may be in the middle of, and then, when you switch it over to the other PC, the HDD will be re-initialized (along with everything else, if you're using a hub).

This product is so sweet - such a simple device that's so useful for such a low purchase price.

I have these, they work great, they work with Vista.

AND, for the first time I can see that if I purchase more than one, I would save money over their previously listed sale price.

Of course, this assumes I buy more than one and the delineation of the shipping charge doesn't kill the deal for me psychologically, from the get - go. But, $17 and change beats $30 all to heck with three sets in the cart.

Additionally, I will say that had these been offered at $9.99 for a pair with free shipping and the second or third sets (pairs) offered at $3.99 each, I would have bought three sets the first time without thinking twice. And, the "cost" to me (and to Fling) would have been the same . . . just a great example of how it works (worked) in my head (the free shipping) . . . and I would bet I am not alone. I am starting to "get" the whole shipping thing I suppose, but it would have been GENIUS from a marketing "angle" to do it the other way (as in the immediately aforementioned).

BTW, and yeah, it is picky, but it is switches, not switchs.

I've bought them before, and they work really well, but you do need to buy another USB cable to use them

One thing to note though, it only comes with one USB cord, so you will need a second one to hook it up to more than one computer

I have so many friggin USB 2.0 cables++ ...I'll be happy to donate them, as long as whoever is willing to pay USPS s&h (i'm guessing $1.50)

I've also got a "Retractable USB cable" from the infamous TF mystery box... yours for the low-low price of $1 (+ s&h)

++ about 8 to be exact (6'Wink, lemme know if ya need one.

I'd love to tell you how cool my first two flings were... shame that SmartPost is holding it hostage Sad
Its been listed as being at my local post office since the morning of the 17th.
What makes me more cranky is FedEx knows its at my local post office, but when I track it using USPS they claim they've only gotten the electronic notification that a package might be coming Sad

I was happy it shipped before I thought it might have, now I'm worried my other flings are going to enter the bermuda triangle.

I just came to point out what devilish69fling already did (switches, not switchs). And it's not picky at all. I remember to this day that when I was a kid and learning how to read and spell, I was reading literally everything that crossed my line of sight if it had words on it. Misspellings and horrible grammar are so rampant on the internet that it makes my head hurt, and I can't help but wonder the effect it's having upon kids who are just learning. And it really makes me cringe when it's something on a business site, as opposed to some random crap text on something completely worthless like MySpace.
I know you guys reuse your pages when a sale item comes up again, and that makes good sense, but I hope you correct things like that before you do.
Still love the site though, keep up the otherwise good work!

YAY!
Amelia Earhart has reappeared with my switches!
Out of the foggy mists of the Bermuda Triangle, she appeared and delivered my box today!

I got these for an odd reason, I own one of those Phillips DVD players that has a USB port that lets you hook up a flash drive, external drive, etc and watch video sorted there in supported formats (I like Divx). Dragging my different external drives back and forth was getting annoying, so being able to share them in place seemed like a better idea.

I plugged it into the DVD player and my Desktop and connected one of my external drives and it worked like a charm. I was able to add video to the drive and then switch and watch it on the DVD player.

I even tried it with my laptop that runs Vista, and it worked just fine. The doesn't work with Vista comment in my case doesn't seem to be true.

There is a mini-CD that comes with it that gives you a program that lets your computer remotely switch the switch to your current device. It only switches it to that machine so you need to install it on both machines or just press the handy button to switch to the other.

These were my first Fling, and I liked it... (well except the post office being slow).

If you have need of a device to share something USB between multiple computers these are a must have.

Reading the files on the mini-CD it looks like windows drivers and mac 9 and mac 10 folders with drivers.
