Philips SRU9600 Universal Remote Control - Only $16.99
What are you waiting for?

The Mother of ALL remotes for an unbeatable price!

Check the retails here!

Okay, this is for those of you who still have not taken advantage of this deal. Why use a remote when you could have the SRU9600. This is truly Champagne at beer prices. It is sleek, beautiful and easy to program/operate. A remote control SRU9600 for only $13.99. Treat  yourself, your family or your friend to the mother of all remotes. Single control solution for any device, any brand, the universal remote control allows you to program and operate up to eight devices from almost any brand. What are you waiting for?

Now you can finally put away all your remote controls and replace them with one beautiful controller. The SRU9600 not only handles all the functions of your original remotes, it is also much easier and more convenient to use.

A universal IR code database refers to a library of infrared codes built-in to a particular remote. This feature allows a remote to control your equipment without needing to learn individual signals. Select the correct infrared code sets in the database for the devices you want to control, to enable control of virtually every audio/video system element on the market today – regardless of model or brand.

Through the special inverted segmented display technology, only the keys which are needed to control a specific device are lit up. No need to look for the right buttons anymore.

The interactive LCD is a 4-line dot matrix LCD display that guides you through the settings, as well as the different devices.

Backlighting is a feature that illuminates the LCD screen or keypad for use in the dark. The two most common types of backlighting include LED and electroluminescent (EL). Remotes backlit with LEDs are typically bright but uneven with a yellow or green colour, while EL panels are smooth with blue, white or green shades.

A cursor incorporating a rotary wheel enables you to navigate through the setup menu and the device pages, in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions.

One-touch control allows you to perform multiple commands with one press of a button via a macro. A macro combines a string of pre-programmed commands under one single button. Therefore, it simply takes one button press to execute a series of functions.

Unlike other universal remote controls, where a three digit code needs to be entered to identify a brand and device, this remote incorporates on-device step-by-step instructions to set up your equipment, regardless of brand.

Learning functionality refers to the process through which a remote control captures and stores infrared signals from other remotes for later use. When device codes are not included in the on-board database, they can always be learned from the original remote, simply by pointing to it.

  • Extensive infrared code database for any device or brand
  • Shows only the keys you need on the touch-sensitive display
  • Easy access to advanced commands via interactive LCD display
  • LCD screen has backlighting for convenience in the dark
  • Rotary cursor control makes menu navigation intuitive
  • Control multiple devices with a single touch
  • No manual needed for set up
  • Convenient infra red learning from another remote by pointing to it

Remember, at Thing Fling it's not a deal ------- It's a steal!!!

Here is a link to the manual, I normally like to get a chance to read through a manual to see how it is setup. This remote seems to handle everything. My only concern is that it is so easy to use my wife will be able to turn on the TV, the surround sound, and the blueray without my help :>Wink (It now takes three clickers to do the job ARH ARH ARH)

There is no manufacturer warranty on the remote but remember; you have 3 days to open and inspect the package, if you didn't like it, it doesn't work... just send it back!

The remotes are refurbished and they were repacked in the original retail open package.

Hope this helps...

At $40, I'm flingin' caution to the wind to get flung! Even though it's a refur, it's a pretty decent device based on reviews I've found. I've been shopping for a programmable universal remote and this one seems to go for at least 2 to 3 times this price elsewhere, so I'll give 'er a go!

Folks - don't sit on the fench about this remote... BUY IT!!! It is a super high quality unit. I've been playing with the one I got yesterday. It's not some Chinese piece of crap - it's made in Belgium. The feel is unbelievably SOLID. And it is really, really easy to program. I have a Sony remote with a display and this one is FAR superior. It is definitely a very high end unit and at a totally ridiculous price... Do not hesitate - buy it now....

Sound like a great deal but since it is an older remote, I wonder if it will work with the DVR box from AT&T's U-Verse as I just switched from TWC. The price is so low that it might be worth it just to try.

anyone else not receive their remote yet?

I ordered mine on 29-Jan, and got the USPS electronic shipping notification info on 02-Feb, and still haven't received anything. And of course, since it's USPS, I have no way of knowing anything about the order...

I just got mine today. Ordered 29-Jan, Info Received 04-Feb, delivered 11-Feb.

Not wonderful shipping speed.

Remote seems nice. Very easy to set up. Even easier than those universal jobs that you have to punch codes into.

One complaint: The remote allows it to learn a function. So, I was programming my Hauppauge remote (controls my PVR-350 card). That actually went well, and it is working fine (so far) via the use of GB-PVR software. But, when adding a function, you have to pick a label from a small list, and cannot enter the label in. Unless I missed it.

Small issue, just thought I'd let others know about my (very brief) experience.

All in all, a pretty nice remote, and easy to learn other remotes' buttons.
